Floyd
D. Clark, President and founder of Niagara Erecting and Clark
Rigging, established his first company, Niagara Erecting and Sheeting
Co., in 1954 to do erecting, reinforcing, and sheeting.
In 1957, his company was incorporated as Niagara Erecting, Inc.
The Power Project, which began in 1958, gave a big boost to the
company. He rented his A-Frame trucks and re-rented cranes to
various Power Project contractors.
Niagara Falls was a heavily industrialized city at the time and
there were frequent projects at Carbide, Hooker, Stauffer Chemical,
Pittsburgh Met, Carborundum and other industrial companies.
Floyd Clark was very aware of the need for cranes in the world
of construction, and purchased his first crane, a Browning Truck
Crane. Clark Rigging & Rental was incorporated as an equipment
rental company in 1960... and his rental fleet has been growing
ever since.
Clark's companies have continued to thrive despite the fact that
many industrial companies have left the Niagara Falls area. Four
of his five children have entered Clark Rigging's work force.
All of them are dedicated to ensuring the future of the Clark
companies. They have purchased bigger cranes, travelled to jobs
in other areas, and adapted to changing times.
Clark Rigging
is headquartered in Lockport, NY, with a branch office in Syracuse
to serve the needs of customers throughout Western and Central
New York, the Southern Tier, and Northern Pennsylvania.
